Packing for Adventure: Hikes, Beaches, and Exploration
North Wales offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities, and having the right gear will help you make the most of your time here.
If you’re heading for a beach day (West Shore in Llandudno, Morfa Beach or Rhos-on-sea are our favourite and dog friendly), don’t forget your swimsuit! Rhos-on-sea beach has an outdoor paddling pool, play area and lots of seating along the front as well as a great cycling lane! Its our top recommendation for somewhere to visit with kids, there are some great places to eat and grab a coffee with our favourite being Coast cafe, a dog friendly cafe with great food, coffee, ice creams and a milkshake bar!
We are situated on the edge of Snowdonia National Park with an abundance of beautiful walks, waterfalls and of course hikes…..it would be rude not to! For hiking, we recommend bringing a sturdy pair of walking boots and a waterproof jacket to keep you comfortable, no matter the weather. Layering is key—our mountain trails can be breezy, so pack cosy jumpers, a hat, and maybe even a scarf! Dont be fooled into thinking its a nice day I don’t need layers….you always need layers! Don’t forget a small backpack for snacks, water, and essentials to keep your hands free while exploring our beautiful landscape and a trail map or GPS would be advisable as phone signals often go in the mountains.

If you are looking for a not so strenuous, but scenic walk then Ogwen valley is a great choice! Here you will find a beautiful lake with various peaks of varying difficulty but equally beautiful scenery it if you fancy a climb. There is also a visitor centre with toilets and parking. Lets not forget Gwydir forest, it is literally on our door step! The forest is part of the National Park and is filled with walking trails, mountain bike trails, a fishing lake and a great paddle boarding lake. With so many paths to choose from its a great place to go for a hike.

For families or couples, we’ve thought of everything. Each hut is stocked with games for all ages—perfect for winding down after a day of exploring. And if you prefer a quieter evening, every hut comes with a Smart TV, so you can stream your favourite shows or films without having to pack much entertainment.
We also provide all your cooking essentials. The huts come with a Tassimo coffee machine (don’t forget your favourite pods!), an oven, hob, fridge, and a full set of crockery, utensils, and pans. We even throw in a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, and biscuits so you can settle in with a cuppa as soon as you arrive.

These unique tents combine the beauty of the outdoors with the comfort and style of glamping. Each tent comes fully furnished with the same high-quality cosy bedding and soft blankets you’ll find in our shepherd huts, ensuring a restful night’s sleep beneath the stars.
Outside, your private picnic bench and recliner sun loungers around the fire pit make it easy to enjoy the fresh air and stunning mountain views. You’ll have access to a gas barbecue for al fresco dining, while children can enjoy the games and books provided for some family fun. The tents offer one of the best views of the mountains, and thanks to the clear panels built into the tent, you can lie back in bed and gaze up at the stars.
Cooking is made easy with access to a shared outdoor kitchen, fully stocked with crockery, cutlery, and all the amenities you’ll need to prepare your meals. We pride ourselves on being a truly dog-friendly glamping site. North Wales is a paradise for pups, with so many local walks where your four-legged friends can run free and explore. Whether you’re looking for scenic coastal strolls or more rugged hikes, there are plenty of dog-friendly options nearby. Please remember we have free range chickens and surrounding fields full of sheep, all we ask is for dogs to remain on leads when walking around the site at all times and please stay off the beds.

Our on-site shop sells all the essentials, like marshmallows for toasting over the fire pit, barbecue coal, and locally sourced eggs. We serve freshly brewed coffee roasted locally in Conwy and delicious vegan hot chocolate.
